Shoulder Latarjet Procedure
I was an active person growing up, playing competitive lacrosse. I previously dislocated my shoulder and underwent surgery by an outside surgeon who performed a Bankart arthroscopic repair. Unfortunately, I experienced recurrent instability of my shoulder. I was referred to Dr. Momaya, a known shoulder expert who takes care of several high level sports teams. Not only did he take care of shoulder dislocations, but he had published multiple research articles on it. I knew I was in good hands. He obtained advanced imaging on my shoulder and determined I needed a Latarjet surgery to stabilize the shoulder. This is a technically demanding procedure that only a few surgeons in the area routinely perform.
I underwent surgery with Dr. Momaya. The rehab was very smooth. I am now over six months from surgery, and I have had no complications and have regained nearly all range of motion and strength. I highly recommend Dr. Momaya for anyone experiencing shoulder dislocations.
